Opening in spring 2026, our brand-new facility will offer 134 single occupancy rooms with ensuite bathrooms and 90 shared rooms, each designed for comfort, dignity and safety. Residents will have access to 24-hour nursing care and personalized supports to help them live well, feel valued, and remain connected to what matters most.

We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and reliable Program Aide to support the planning and delivery of recreational and social programs that enhance the well-being and engagement of our residents.

Scope of the Role

As a Program Therapist, you will plan, organize, and facilitate activities that promote engagement, wellness, and meaningful daily interactions. You will work closely with residents and the recreation team to provide experiences that enhance quality of life and foster social connection.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational and therapeutic programs
  • Encourage resident participation in group and one-on-one activities
  • Support program setup, delivery, and cleanup
  • Escort residents safely to and from program areas as needed
  • Monitor resident safety and provide support during activities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of program supplies and spaces
  • Document resident participation and provide feedback to the recreation team
  • Collaborate with the care team to support person-centred programming

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in long-term care, senior living, or similar environment
  • Education or certification in Recreation, Social Services, Gerontology, or related field preferred
  • Experience engaging with individuals living with dementia is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Warm, caring, and enthusiastic approach to resident engagement
  • CPR and First Aid certification an asset
  • Must provide a recent Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 per public health guidelines
